In the absence of the physical exams as the results of the Covid 19 outbreak, VAS has worked closely with CAIE to award students with assessed grades in for their IGCSE, AS and A Level course respectively. This was a highly rigorous and stringent process, where the School worked diligently to provide predicted grades and ranking for every individual student based on a number of academic evidences, including:

  • Previous external examinations (Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS levels).
  • Teacher assessments for the duration of the 2-year course.
  • Mock examination results.
  • End of Semester and End of Year results attained during the 2-year course.
  • CAT4 results.
  • Rankings for each candidate in every subject.
  • Other evidence, such as work samples and coursework.

The predicted grades and ranking were subsequently submitted to CAIE, who conducted the worldwide moderation and issued the final grades to students.

Given the circumstances of COVID-19, the results achieved this year at all levels represent the best ever results at VAS and are above the global average. They reflected the hard work and perseverance our students and teachers have endured in one of the most challenging and testing years.
