Meet Cong Thuy Mai Chi - A multi-talented former VAS student making her mark across many fields

Guided by her personal motto, "I don't compete with anyone except the person I was yesterday," former VAS student Cong Thuy Mai Chi has continuously challenged herself to grow, embrace new opportunities, and pursue excellence across multiple fields. Whether in academics, the arts, or student leadership, she has consistently demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Today, Mai Chi has graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City and is continuing her academic journey as a postgraduate researcher in Pharmaceutical Formulation. The strong academic foundation, English proficiency, and international learning mindset she developed during her years at VAS have enabled her to thrive in one of Vietnam's leading medical universities.

Beyond her academic achievements, Mai Chi has always nurtured a deep passion for music. She earned the ABRSM Piano Grade 8 Certificate with Merit, reflecting years of disciplined practice and artistic dedication. Throughout her time at VAS, she actively participated in school performances and music-related activities, where she continued to develop her musical talents alongside her academic pursuits.

Mai Chi also demonstrated outstanding leadership as President of the VAS Student Council for the 2018-2019 academic year. In this role, she strengthened her leadership, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills while working closely with fellow students and teachers to lead a wide range of school initiatives and community activities.

Balancing academics, extracurricular commitments, and personal interests is never easy. Through effective time management, self-discipline, and a willingness to embrace every opportunity, Mai Chi made the most of her experiences at VAS, building a well-rounded foundation that continues to support her success today.

Her journey reminds us that true achievement is not defined by a single accomplishment but by continuous growth, curiosity, and the determination to become a better version of oneself every day.
