Đồng Gia Nghi has proudly received admission offers from one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious universities, Trinity College Dublin - Ranked No.1 in Ireland. As well as University College Dublin - Ranked No.2 in Ireland.

With a history of over 430 years, Trinity College Dublin was founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592. The university is globally renowned for its excellence in teaching and research, with many faculties and institutes recognized worldwide.

At Trinity, Gia Nghi has been offered a place in the Bachelor’s programme in Management Science and Information Systems Studies, with an expected intake in September 2026. Her conditional offer requires AAA in her final A Level examinations, including at least a grade C in Mathematics.

In addition, Gia Nghi has also received an admission offer and a €3,000 scholarship from University College Dublin (UCD), for the Computational Social Science programme in the 2026–2027 academic year. The scholarship condition requires a minimum of ABB in A Levels, while the admission requirement is at least BBC, including Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science.

These conditions reflect the highly selective nature of Irish universities and the rigorous academic standards expected of students.

A key strength of Gia Nghi is her consistency in academic direction. The programmes she has chosen all focus on analytics, data, and systems, clearly demonstrating her strategic thinking and long-term vision in fields at the intersection of technology, management, and society.

Receiving early offers from both prestigious universities affirms Gia Nghi’s outstanding academic ability, perseverance, and thorough preparation for higher education. It also reflects the strong academic foundation of VAS students.

Alongside Gia Nghi, VASer Hoàng Ngọc Ánh Minh from VAS Riverside has also received an admission offer from the National University of Singapore (NUS) - Ranked No.1 in Asia and No.8 globally.

Ánh Minh has been admitted to the Engineering programme, with a minor in Project Management.

“With your scholastic and personal accomplishments, alongside your potential for future academic success, we are confident that you will bring unique and valuable contributions to the NUS community,” wrote Professor Tan Eng Chye, President of NUS, in the offer letter.

“While you have identified Chemical Engineering as your preferred Major, you will have the flexibility to pursue your indicated preferred Major or any of the Majors under the Engineering programme of the College of Design and Engineering. We will guide you in charting your individualised learning pathway,” the letter added.

NUS is one of the world’s leading universities, known for its highly competitive admissions and innovative academic environment. Ánh Minh’s success reflects not only strong academic performance but also determination, curiosity, and a readiness to pursue her passion.

With these achievements, Gia Nghi and Ánh Minh have officially opened a “season of university admissions and scholarships” for VASers in the 2025–2026 academic year. Their success serves as a powerful source of inspiration for fellow VAS students and Vietnamese students aspiring to reach the global stage. The school takes great pride in accompanying them on this remarkable journey.

VAS believes that from these milestones, the students will continue to shine and contribute to showcasing the intellect and resilience of the young Vietnamese generation in global integration. Wishing both students and all VASers continued success in the upcoming “bumper season.”

Applying “backward planning” to design your children’s learning journey

If Grade 12 is seen as the “finish line”, the key question parents should ask is: What do my children need by that point, not only to gain admission to their desired universities, but also to be fully prepared for the future? At a recent online seminar hosted by the Vietnam Australia International School (VAS), education experts highlighted the importance of a “backward planning” mindset. This approach starts with the end goal and works backwards to design a suitable learning pathway from the very beginning.
