Congratulations to the Outstanding VAS Community 2025–2026 Projects

After an exciting Campus Round, the Organizing Committee is proud to congratulate the outstanding projects representing each campus in the VAS Community Programme 2025–2026:

Riverside Campus

First Prize – VIKE RESOURCES

Media

  • Team members: Grade 12 students
  • Purpose: Raise funds to maintain and develop a free online learning resource platform for secondary students.
  • Fundraising activities: Selling stationery and NFC keychains to promote the VIKE Resources website.

Second Prize – TÚI VẢI TRAO GỬI YÊU THƯƠNG (CANVAS BAGS OF KINDNESS)

Media

  • Team members: Grade 3 students
  • Purpose: Hand-paint Tet-themed canvas bags to sell during the Spring Festival. Proceeds will support children at Long Hoa Pagoda, Phu My Ward.
  • Key message: “When you give kindness, you receive happiness.”
  • Fundraising activities: Selling hand-painted canvas bags at the Spring Fair 2026.

Third Prize – GIỌT NƯỚC NGHĨA TÌNH (DROPS OF KINDNESS)

Media

  • Team members: Grade 5.R1 students
  • Purpose: Distribute free bottled water with uplifting messages such as “You are not alone” and “Together, we can overcome hardships.”
  • Key message: “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop

Sunrise Campus

First Prize – TAKE ME HOME

Media

  • Team members: Grade 11 & 12 students
  • Purpose: Equip students aged 6–18 with essential online safety knowledge and self-protection skills, helping them recognize cyber risks and respond effectively to online threats.

Second Prize – KNOWLEDGE WITH KINDNESS

Media

  • Team members: Grade 5 students
  • Purpose: Donate books and learning materials to underprivileged children, while fundraising through handmade product sales to buy school supplies for them.
  • Key message: “A book is a dream you hold in your hands.” – Neil Gaiman
  • Fundraising activities: Handmade product sales and school-wide book donation drive.

Third Prize – CHAI NHỰA NẢY MẦM XANH (PLASTIC BOTTLES BLOOMING GREEN)

Media

  • Team members: Grade 9 students
  • Purpose: Turn used plastic bottles into plant pots to promote creativity and environmental awareness among students.
  • Key message: “Each plastic bottle can be the start of a new life. Let our small hands plant hope for a greener Earth every day.”
  • Fundraising activities: Christmas and Spring Fair workshops selling decoration kits and seedlings to raise funds for school charity projects.

Garden Hills Campus

First Prize – LIGHT OF HEART

Media

  • Team members: Grade 10 students
  • Purpose: Provide financial aid for at least one child to receive surgery, giving them a chance at a healthy heartbeat and a return to school.
  • Key message: "A loving heart can save another."
  • Fundraising activities: Charity run, mini concert, and handmade booths during the Christmas and Spring Flower Festival.

Second Prize – THANH ÂM SOI SÁNG (THE SOUND OF LIGHT)

Media

  • Team members: Grade 11 students
  • Purpose: Create assistive tools that help visually impaired individuals move safely and confidently, allowing them to sense the world through sound and vibration. Enhance independence, reduce risks, and promote inclusion.
  • Key message: “Where small sounds touch the heart, lighting the path for every step toward peace and belief.”
  • Fundraising activities: Donation box, glasses-making workshop, slime sales, Christmas and Spring Festival booths.

Third Prize – GIẤC MƠ LẬP TRÌNH (THE CODING DREAM)

Media

  • Team members: Grade 10 students
  • Purpose: Provide a free Python learning platform for the community. Encourage self-learning, build programming literacy, and nurture a passion for technology.
  • Key message: "Everyone should learn computer programming because it teaches you how to think." – Steve Jobs
  • Fundraising activities: Fundraising through Christmas, Spring Fair, Fundraiser Boxes, and sponsorship.

Ba Tháng Hai Campus

First Prize – GẤP Project: Upcycling Old Uniforms to Protect the Environment and Reduce School Waste

Media

  • Team members: Grade 11 students
  • Project goal: The project aims to reduce fashion waste by transforming old school uniforms into unique handmade items such as tote bags, stuffed toys, and decorative objects. GẤP Project also seeks to raise environmental awareness and promote a sustainable lifestyle among students. Additionally, all handmade products and funds raised from workshops will be donated to children in need.
  • Message: “Every ‘fold’ is not only a journey of reviving old uniforms but also a way for students to contribute to making the world greener, more beautiful, and warmer.”
  • Fundraising activities: Organizing uniform upcycling workshops at school and community events

Second Prize – TRAO NẮNG CHO EM: Supporting children at SOS Children’s Village Go Vap

Media

  • Team members: Students from Years 11–12
  • Purpose: Bring joy, care, and learning opportunities to children in special circumstances.
  • Key message: "A little kindness shared can warm a child’s heart."
  • Fundraising activities: Charity fundraising booths and musical performances.

Third Prize – EM! Project: Promoting mental well-being and community care

Media

  • Team members: Students from Years 8–11
  • Purpose: Raise funds and collaborate with local charity groups to support children in under-resourced areas while encouraging VAS students to take part in meaningful acts of kindness.
  • Key message: "Everyone deserves to be understood and loved."
  • Fundraising activities: “EM! Project” fundraising store (online and offline) offering handmade products and treats, charity music night, and sponsorship outreach.

Hoàng Văn Thụ Campus

First Prize – BLOOM Project: Spreading Love and Hope to Children in Need

Media

  • Team members: Students from Grades 9–12
  • Project goal: To provide material and emotional support to children in difficult circumstances, especially those affected by Agent Orange.
  • Message: “Everyone can be a little ray of sunshine, warming someone else’s heart.”
  • Fundraising activities: Selling handmade items such as bracelets, keychains, and knitted flowers; collecting donations from parents, teachers, and students; selling products at school events.

Second Prize – GIVE LOVE, SEND DREAMS: Supporting Long-term Hospitalized Children

Media

  • Team members: Students from Grade 11
  • Project goal: To bring encouragement and hope to children undergoing long-term treatment, share the burden with their families, and promote kindness and compassion.
  • Message: "Every act of sharing lights up another ray of hope for children fighting illness on their journey to recovery."
  • Fundraising activities: Selling tote bags, keychains, small accessories; offering gift-wrapping services; selling at school and fairs; promoting through social media and QR codes introducing products.

Third Prize – ZERO WASTE: Giving Waste a New Life – Promoting a Green Lifestyle and Building a Highland School Library

Media

  • Team members: Grade 5 students from the Zero Waste Club
  • Project goal: To practice a Zero Waste lifestyle following the 5R principles; create new products from recycled materials; raise funds to build a library for highland students.
  • Fundraising activities: Making and selling notebooks from old paper; growing hydroponic vegetables for periodic sale; exhibiting and selling recycled products at the end-of-year showcase

Sala Campus

First Prize – NHỊP CẦU YÊU THƯƠNG 3: Bringing Love to Children in Need

Media

  • Project Members: Students from Grades 3–5 and Grade 6
  • Objectives: Foster a spirit of sharing, promote social responsibility, and support disadvantaged communities by building a new bridge in An Thới hamlet, Bình An commune, An Giang province (Viet Uc Sala 3 Bridge)
  • Message: “Every small action can make a big difference for the community.”
  • Fundraising activities: Selling handmade products (bags, hats, gloves…), organizing workshops, and mobilizing community donations.

Second Prize - SMALL STEPS, BIG JOURNEY: Supporting Children in Hospitals and Shelters

Media

  • Project Members: Students from Grades 6–12
  • Objectives: Provide material and emotional support to children with difficult circumstances at Children’s Hospital 1 & 2 (Ho Chi Minh City) and children at Kim Cuong Tuoi Dep Center – District 12, HCMC
  • Message: “A little sharing can give strength and joy to children.”
  • Fundraising activities: Organizing handmade stalls (cards, bookmarks, recycled crafts, baked goods, knitted items…) and mobilizing donations within the class and school community.

The projects that won at the Campus Round will continue to develop with the support of three mentors and will participate in the System Round taking place in May 2026.

The Organizing Committee sincerely appreciates the enthusiasm, perseverance, and community spirit of all project teams who participated in the program. Let’s continue spreading goodness and creating a positive impact with kindness, VASers!

If Grade 12 is seen as the “finish line”, the key question parents should ask is: What do my children need by that point, not only to gain admission to their desired universities, but also to be fully prepared for the future? At a recent online seminar hosted by the Vietnam Australia International School (VAS), education experts highlighted the importance of a “backward planning” mindset. This approach starts with the end goal and works backwards to design a suitable learning pathway from the very beginning.

GRAND FINAL VAS ROBOTICS COMPETITION 2025 – 2026: VASERS SHINE THROUGH TECHNOLOGY AND KINDNESS

On April 3 at VAS Sala Campus, the final round of the VAS Robotics Competition 2025–2026 took place in an energetic atmosphere, featuring thrilling and competitive performances. This year, the competition stood out with its expanded scale and more diverse content. At the Primary level, nearly 50 VAS students and 4 guest teams formed 16 vibrant competing teams. Meanwhile, the Secondary level gathered 200 VAS students, with 70 teams competing across 9 categories, creating a dynamic and highly competitive technology arena.
