Success is never achieved overnight. For former VAS student Dai Hoang Phuc, every academic milestone has been the result of years of perseverance, disciplined learning, and a commitment to continuous growth.

Having studied at VAS from an early age, Phuc is now pursuing a medical degree at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City. During the 2024-2025 academic year, he ranked first among more than 400 students in his cohort, an achievement that reflects both his academic ability and his unwavering dedication.

This accomplishment came as no surprise. In 2023, Phuc was already ranked among the Top 150 out of approximately 90,000 candidates who took the Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment, one of Vietnam's largest and most competitive university entrance examinations.

Behind these achievements lies the strong academic foundation he developed throughout his years at VAS.
Through the Cambridge curriculum, Phuc built solid subject knowledge while developing the analytical thinking and academic mindset needed to tackle complex challenges. The programme equipped him not only with a deep understanding of theoretical concepts but also with the ability to apply knowledge effectively in real-world contexts.

His strong command of academic English, demonstrated by an IELTS score of 8.0, has also been an invaluable asset. It enables him to access international medical literature, conduct independent research, and keep pace with the latest developments in his field.

During his time at VAS, Phuc also had numerous opportunities to develop university-level learning and research skills. These experiences allowed him to adapt quickly to the demanding academic environment of medical school and confidently embrace the challenges of higher education.

Phuc's journey demonstrates that meaningful success is built on consistent effort, determination, and thoughtful preparation from an early stage.
