Dao Hieu Phong
Our former VASer and his journey of limitless invention

Now, Phong has become a second-year student at RMIT University with a full 100% scholarship, thanks to the project “Otto” - a waste-sorting Robot using artificial intelligence (AI) that he researched and developed himself.
During 13 years of learning at VAS (from Pre 3 to Grade 12), Phong has always left a strong impression because of his persistent learning spirit, creativity, and passion for exploring technology:
- An average score above 9.7 - the proof of effort and discipline.
- The Otto Robot project helped him achieve a prestigious full scholarship at RMIT University.
- Simultaneously, Phong also demonstrated his artistic talents when he performed with the school band frequently.
Moreover, Phong and his brother, who is also a former VASer, Dao Hieu Dong, have continued to conquer the creative field with the project “QiClash” - an entertaining chess game, combining tactical thinking and national culture. The game was introduced by the two brothers at various events, from tournaments in schools, exchanges, and activities in cultural festivals.
At VAS, every student is encouraged to explore, challenge, and break through to find their own path. Because at VAS, success is not just measured by grades, but by the journey of daring to dream, daring to act, and constantly moving forward.
