Currently studying at Georgia Institute of Technology – one of the top public universities in the US – Mai Xuan Khoi previously received offers from Johns Hopkins University (No.1 in Biomedical Engineering in the US) and a full four-year scholarship from the University of Sydney, one of Australia’s most prestigious universities.

Impressive achievements of VASer Khoi:

  • SAT 1580/1600 (top 1% worldwide) – IELTS 8.5 – A* in all 7 IGCSE subjects
  • International Gold Medal for research on early cancer-cell detection
  • Gold in Mathematics, Silver in Science at the International STEM Olympiad (Netherlands)
  • Multiple science awards from the USA, Germany, Singapore, Indonesia, and Silicon Valley

But beyond numbers, Khoi stands out through projects fueled by curiosity and compassion:

  • Founded a Science Research Club, leading many community-applied projects
  • Founded the Zero-Cost Library, offering books to disabled and disadvantaged children
  • Joined sea-turtle rescue efforts at Nui Chua National Park and planted protective trees in Dong Nai
  • Served as MC, volunteer, track-and-field & swimming athlete, and member of the VAS Garden Hills Student Council

Khoi’s journey reflects a student who dares to dream, dares to act, and uses knowledge to create real value for the community. His younger sibling is currently studying at VAS — a testament to the family’s trust.
