Seven years of dedicated learning and a well-rounded academic portfolio helped former VAS student Le Minh Thien An earn a scholarship and begin her next academic chapter at the University of Sydney, one of Australia's top three universities.

Behind this achievement is a journey defined by perseverance, continuous self-improvement, and a commitment to developing not only academic excellence but also leadership, communication, and research capabilities.

Scientific research became one of the strongest highlights of Thien An's university application. Together with her classmate Phan Nguyen Bao Tran, she completed the project "Synthesizing Biopolymer Materials from Orange Peels for the Production of Biodegradable Bags." The project received Second Prize at the National Science and Engineering Fair and First Prize at the City-level Competition, demonstrating her ability to conduct research, think creatively, and apply scientific knowledge to real-world environmental challenges.

In addition to her research achievements, Thien An distinguished herself through her outstanding English public speaking skills. She earned Second Prize in the VAS Speaking Contest in both the 2022-2023 and 2024-2025 academic years. These experiences strengthened her communication skills, confidence, critical thinking, and ability to present ideas effectively before diverse audiences.

Throughout her time at VAS, Thien An actively participated in extracurricular activities, community projects, and school events, where she frequently served as a student emcee. These opportunities enabled her to develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and adaptability, all of which contributed to a highly competitive university application.

Her outstanding achievements also earned her direct admission to the Materials Engineering programme at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, further reflecting the strength of her academic profile before she chose to pursue higher education overseas.

Today, Thien An is studying a double degree in Pharmacy and Business at the University of Sydney, where she continues to pursue new academic and professional aspirations.

VAS is proud to have supported her journey and believes that the strong academic foundation, practical skills, and confidence she developed throughout her years at the school will continue to empower her to thrive in one of the world's leading educational environments.
