From hosting school events at VAS to pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering at RMIT University Melbourne, former VAS student Nguyen Binh Minh Tri has demonstrated how early preparation and a well-rounded education can open doors to global opportunities.

Choosing one of the world's most demanding engineering disciplines requires more than strong academic performance. Throughout his 12 years at VAS, Minh Tri steadily built a solid foundation in academics while developing the confidence, leadership, and adaptability needed to succeed in an international environment.

His academic achievements laid the groundwork for his university journey. During high school, Minh Tri consistently improved his GPA, achieving 9.5 in Grade 10, 9.6 in Grade 11, and 9.7 in Grade 12. He also earned multiple A and A* grades in the Cambridge programme, achievements that helped him secure scholarships from both the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales (UNSW) before ultimately choosing to study at RMIT University Melbourne.

Beyond academics, Minh Tri actively participated in extracurricular activities and community initiatives throughout his time at VAS. In 2022, he was recognised as an Outstanding Student in Following President Ho Chi Minh's Moral Example by Ho Chi Minh City, honouring his achievements in academics, personal development, and community engagement.

Within the VAS community, Minh Tri was also widely known as an energetic student leader and event host. He served as an emcee for VAS's Got Talent and actively contributed to environmental initiatives such as the Climate Action Project. These experiences strengthened his communication, leadership, teamwork, and public speaking skills while encouraging him to take on new challenges with confidence.

After moving to Australia, Minh Tri quickly adapted to university life and an independent lifestyle. Alongside his studies, he took on a part-time role at McDonald's as a Crew Coach, where he was responsible for training and supporting new employees. The position allowed him to further develop his leadership, workplace communication, and problem-solving skills in a multicultural environment.

Minh Tri's journey illustrates that lasting success comes from much more than academic excellence. It is built on continuous learning, practical experience, resilience, and the confidence to embrace new opportunities. VAS is proud to have been part of his educational journey and looks forward to seeing him continue pursuing his dream of becoming an aerospace engineer while making meaningful contributions to the future of aviation and space technology.
