The Cambridge Education Programme is one of the most popular international education programmes, which is being offered by more than 10.000 schools in 160 countries worldwide. The programme has been selected to be delivered in parallel with the national education programme by many countries such as Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, Indonesia, India, and many more.

VAS was one of the pioneers in Vietnam to introduce the Cambridge curriculum in the 2013-2014 academic year. Since then, the programme has been growing year-on-year both in student numbers and education quality.

In the school year 2022-2023, VAS students have achieved great results in the Cambridge international benchmark exams organized by CAIE, including the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint, Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge AS & A Level, and Cambridge English exams such as Starters, Movers, Flyers, PET, KET.

Specifically, four VAS students were awarded the prestigious "Top in Vietnam" award for English as a Second Language and Economics in the Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level exams. In addition, 50 students were awarded the "Perfect Score in All Subjects" trophy and 216 students received gifts for achieving Excellent – Outstanding performance in all subjects.

On behalf of VAS, Mr. Nigel Cropley, Executive Cluster School Director of the Sala campus, also expressed great pride and shared some touching words to the students: "I hope you understand that you are here today not by luck, but by many other factors. You have studied hard and are determined to become the best version of yourself. You have overcome challenges with perseverance and have never given up. In addition, it is also thanks to the support and encouragement from the family for you to be able to achieve the best results. Therefore, after this ceremony, do not forget to thank your parents and hug them tightly.”

Mr. Nigel also reminded: "Think about the true values of yourself, because these are very valuable things, even more valuable than academic achievements. Never lose the meaning of a compassionate heart. Be yourself, try to reduce the amount of time you spend on social media and mobile phones, and spend more time talking to your family and friends, because these relationships are the most important gift you can have. I hope you will never lose your passion for learning and determination to strive for success."

Sharing with parents attending the ceremony, Mr. Nigel said: "The Cambridge international examinations are organized, graded centrally, and the results are sent to the school by the CAIE. VAS will not be allowed to interfere with the results of these exams. Thousands of students around the world, from Australia to Zambia, all participate in these exams – at the same time and receive the results on the same day. And I am extremely honored to share with you that your children have achieved outstanding results compared to their peers on a global scale in many respects."

Representing the students who received awards for their outstanding performance in the Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint exam, Dao Maja, a grade 9 student at the VAS Riverside campus, said: "Although I had previously studied in Poland, I had never scored perfect in Math or English. After I entered my learning journey at VAS, I finally achieved excellent scores."

Maja also shared her study tips with other students, such as: trying different methods and finding the best way to learn for yourself, maintaining a habit of reading, and developing self-study skills. "Ask when you still have time, because when we grow up, we won't have many opportunities. Self-learning skills will be an important life skill throughout your life. The important thing is that we should strive to become the best version of ourselves. Just keep trying until you reach success and never give up."

Tuong Loan, a Grade 11 student at the VAS Garden Hills campus and one of the four outstanding students to receive the "Top in Vietnam" award, shared: "Studying will help us develop in a constantly changing world. Despite the difficulties and challenges, we have gained great achievements. So please give us a round of applause."

According to Mr. Melvyn, the Cambridge qualifications system is widely recognized by top universities around the world. Cambridge's IGCSE and A Level program provides students with a solid foundation of knowledge and outstanding skills, giving them an advantage when applying to competitive majors at the university level. Leading educational countries such as Singapore also work closely with Cambridge to assess student aptitude and development in their national education systems. More and more universities in the United States are using the results of Cambridge's A Level program to award credits to high-achieving students. This means that they can shorten their college years. The Cambridge qualifications that you were assessed and achieved today have the same quality and value standards as equivalent qualifications in any country in the world where Cambridge teaches the program and organizes exams.
