The Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) has successfully conducted its annual kick-off training week for secondary school teachers, focusing on enhancing teaching quality, strengthening technological skills, and developing innovative teaching methods. The training aims to equip teachers with the latest educational trends, ensuring that students are well-prepared for both academic success and personal development in the 2025 – 2026 academic year.

1. Understanding the Psychology of Secondary School Students
One of the core sessions addressed the psychological characteristics of secondary school students, helping teachers:
- Better understand the emotional and cognitive development stages of teenagers.
- Apply appropriate teaching and communication strategies to motivate students, build trust, and support their social-emotional growth.
2. Technology Integration: MS Teams, SharePoint, LMS, SIS, and Advanced MacBook Training
VAS continues to lead in digital transformation in education. Teachers received training in:
- MS Teams, SharePoint, and updates on LMS and SIS to improve communication, lesson delivery, and student performance tracking.
- Advanced MacBook training to maximize the device’s potential for interactive teaching, creative lesson design, and seamless online collaboration.

3. Competency-Based Teaching Design and Scientific Research Guidance
The session “Designing and Organizing Teaching According to Competency Development Orientation” provided teachers with effective strategies to shift from knowledge-based teaching to competency-based education, fostering problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration among students.
Additionally, teachers were given important guidelines on supporting students in scientific research projects, a growing focus at VAS. These sessions emphasized how to guide students in developing research skills, critical thinking, and innovation while adhering to ethical standards.
4. Food Safety and Emergency Handling
The Food Safety Training and Case Studies Program is an essential part of VAS's efforts to protect the health and safety of students. In this session, teachers will be equipped with knowledge about the procedures for ensuring food quality in schools, as well as skills for handling emergency situations related to student health. With the increasing prevalence of substandard food, providing food safety knowledge to teachers will help enhance management effectiveness and risk prevention, creating a safe and healthy learning environment for students.

5. Sharing Typical Pedagogical Situations and Prompt-Writing Training
Teachers participated in case-based training on typical pedagogical situations, practicing step-by-step procedures to resolve common classroom challenges effectively and professionally.
A special session on prompt-writing skills—originally developed for primary teachers—was also shared with secondary school teachers to explore how AI tools can support personalized learning materials and innovative teaching approaches.

6. Reaffirming Excellence in Secondary Education
A VAS representative emphasized: “Investing in teacher development is investing in students’ future. Through this intensive training week, we aim to empower teachers to deliver innovative, student-centered lessons, ensuring both academic excellence and holistic development for our students.”
With thorough preparation, VAS is ready to welcome the 2025 – 2026 school year, reaffirming its leadership in delivering world-class secondary education in Vietnam.
