VAS Kindergartners and Their First Days at School

The first few weeks of school are always a special experience for our little VASers. For Pre 0 children, this is their first time getting to know the school, teachers and friends. Meanwhile, Pre 1-2-3 students gradually settle back into their learning routines and enjoy new activities and experiences.

Kindergartners learn and play with their teachers and friends

At VAS's five campuses, teachers gently support each child throughout this transition, allowing them to adapt at their own pace and gradually feel safe, comfortable and happier with each day at school.

From shyness to confidence

For Pre 0 VASers, the first days at school can come with many new emotions. Being away from their parents and getting used to new teachers, friends and surroundings is a big transition for young children.

Understanding this, teachers stay close to the children, carefully observing and supporting them throughout their daily routines, from learning and playtime to meals and naps. Daily photos and updates from teachers also help parents feel reassured as they accompany their children through this important transition.

As they become more familiar with their new surroundings, our little VASers gradually grow more confident. The tears and shyness of the first days give way to bright smiles, joyful moments with teachers and friends, and excitement as they explore new games and activities.

Students confidently explore and play with teachers

Learning through play and joyful experiences

The “learning through play” approach is flexibly integrated into Kindergarten activities, supporting children's holistic development in both physical and emotional well-being. Children have opportunities to play outdoors, explore nature, enjoy age-appropriate physical activities, develop their musical and artistic talents, and take part in activities that encourage creativity, concentration and problem-solving skills.

A highlight of the school week is Friday Fun Day, which gives Kindergartners a joyful space to play, explore and recharge. They can take part in a variety of movement games, multisensory activities and technology-based experiences, including controlling robots.
