VAS officially Implements Komodo Wellbeing to Support Students’ Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing from Kindergarten (Pre 3) to Grade 12

Komodo Wellbeing is a platform that supports mental health and emotional wellbeing. After being successfully introduced to students in Grades 4, 6, 9, and 11 during the 2024–2025 academic year, it is now being expanded to all students from Kindergarten (Pre 3) to Grade 12 in the 2025–2026 school year.

VAS understands that education goes beyond academic achievement. “Grades are important, but the happiness and wellbeing of our students matter most,” shared Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Xuân – Academic Division Director and Head of School at VAS.

The school believes it is essential to provide students with the tools and resources needed to build self-awareness, emotional understanding, resilience, and healthy coping strategies. With these, students will be fully equipped to overcome challenges both in their studies and in life.

Key features of Komodo Wellbeing include:

  • Students can proactively request to speak with a member of the school community when facing difficulties or needing support.
  • Regular surveys allow teachers and school leaders to stay updated on students’ mental wellbeing and provide timely, tailored support, ensuring that each student’s growth journey is a fulfilling one.
  • Absolute confidentiality: only teaching staff and designated school leaders have access to student information.

Since the 2023–2024 school year, VAS has also implemented the Wellbeing Program (Calm Mind – Bright Mind – Healthy Body) for all students from Kindergarten (Pre 3) to Grade 12, with age-appropriate content tailored for each level.

By integrating Komodo Wellbeing into this program, VAS further strengthens its holistic approach to education, creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students can develop knowledge, skills, and mental wellbeing in balance.

At a recent online seminar hosted by the Vietnam Australia International School (VAS), education experts highlighted the importance of a “backward planning” mindset. This approach starts with the end goal and works backwards to design a suitable learning pathway from the very beginning.
