VAS Organizes 2025 – 2026 School Year Kick-off Training Week: Enhancing Primary Education Quality

Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) has successfully organized its annual kick-off training week for primary school teachers, aiming to equip educators with modern teaching methods, advanced technological skills, and effective classroom management strategies. This initiative ensures thorough preparation for the 2025 – 2026 academic year, in line with international standards and Vietnam’s national education reforms.

One of the highlights of the training was specialized workshops on Developing Learning Competencies for Students in two key subjects: Vietnamese Language and Mathematics, following the 2018 General Education Program.

  • Teachers were guided on designing lessons that focus on competency-based education, encouraging students to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and self-learning skills.
  • The training emphasized helping students apply knowledge in real-life situations, rather than relying solely on rote memorization.

3. Ensuring Safety and Comprehensive Development for Students

The Food Safety Training and Case Studies Session continues to demonstrate VAS's strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment. In this program, teachers were guided on the procedures for controlling the quality of school meals, while also being equipped with skills to handle case studies related to student health. Additionally, teachers were updated with important knowledge on food safety, especially given the increasing prevalence of low-quality food. Providing comprehensive food safety knowledge to the teaching staff plays a key role in enhancing management effectiveness and minimizing risks in the school environment.

4. Sharing Experiences and Positive Classroom Management

The training week also served as a platform for teachers to exchange experiences in applying technology in teaching and explore positive classroom management strategies.

Shared practices focused on building a supportive and encouraging learning environment, helping students learn more effectively through positive reinforcement rather than strict discipline.

The session “From Incorrect Behavior to Positive Behavior – The Role of Teachers in Guiding Student Behavior” provided teachers with:

  • Insights into identifying the root causes of behavioral issues.
  • Strategies to guide students toward positive habits and self-discipline through empathy and constructive methods.

Additionally, “AI in Action: Prompt-Writing Skills Every Teacher Should Know” attracted significant attention. Teachers were introduced to practical AI prompt-writing techniques, helping them design creative lesson plans and personalize learning activities for different student groups.
