VASers Surpassed Global Averages in AS–A Level and IGCSE Exams

By outperforming the global average across most subjects, this year’s AS–A Level and IGCSE results once again reaffirm the outstanding quality of the Cambridge Programme at VAS.

AS–A Level Results (Grades 11 & 12):

This year’s AS–A Level outcomes highlight not only the strong academic abilities of VAS students but also their remarkable progress, with a significant increase in the proportion of top scores (A*–A) compared to 2024.

• Rising Participation: A total of 284 students sat the AS–A Level exams in 2025, representing a remarkable 27% increase in candidates compared with last year. This growth reflects the expanding confidence and ambition of our student community.
• Strong Academic Achievement: Students achieved 240 A*-A grades, a 26% increase over 2024, accounting for 25% of all grades awarded.
• Exceptional Scholars: 11% of the students who sat the exams achieved straight A*-A grades in all subjects, an increase of 2% compared with 2024.
• Exceeding Global Standards: The school’s A Level results outperformed global averages across most top grading levels (i.e. A*-A, A*-B và A*-C), with outstanding results in Mathematics, Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Physics. Particularly noteworthy is Psychology, where our students achieved results far above the global average at both AS and A Level.

IGCSE Results (Grade 10):

This year’s IGCSE results continue to showcase the academic excellence of VAS students and the effectiveness of our dedicated teaching team.

• Growing Participation: A total of 411 students sat the IGCSE exams in 2025, marking a 5% increase in candidates compared with 2024. This reflects the growing confidence in our program and the ambition of our students to take on academic challenges.
• High Achievement Maintained: Our students earned 491 A*-A grades*, representing 28% of total grades.
• Exceptional Scholars: 16% of students who sat the exams distinguished themselves by achieving straight A*-A grades across all their subjects.
• Subject Excellence Above Global Average: Our strongest results came in English as a Second Language, English as an Additional Language, Literature (English), Mathematics, Economics, and Chemistry, where VAS’s average grade consistently surpassed global benchmarks at the top grading levels.
