At VAS, young people choose not to confine themselves to a single label. They believe in their limitless potential. Let us journey through three stories of three VASers: Minh Phát, Bảo Ngọc, and Swar. Each represents a different piece of the puzzle, yet all share the same spirit of daring to dream and staying true to their passions.

1. How many answers are there to the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Confident and resilient, Minh Phát loves music and stands out with sharp debating skills. He is about to begin a new chapter in Australia, pursuing his dream of studying Medicine.

After 11 years under the VAS roof, Trương Minh Phát has never learned to become just “ somebody.”

We are often used to defining a person by a single profession. But for today’s generation, a doctor can also be a lecturer and a content creator. A science engineer can take on the roles of entrepreneur and public speaker. A designer can also be a creative director.

Believing in his boundless potential, VASer Trương Minh Phát has never hesitated to try himself in different roles.

• In the classroom, he is an outstanding student with excellent academic achievements.
• On stage, he is a sharp debater and a confident MC.
• In everyday life, he is a music lover and a young person nurturing aspirations to contribute to a greener planet.

Soon, as he closes his 11 year journey at VAS, Phát is ready for a new turning point in Melbourne, where he will pursue his dream in the field of Medicine. This is a path that demands solid knowledge and enduring inner strength.

What he carries with him is not only academic knowledge. It is also confidence built from invaluable experiences throughout his school years, along with a strong belief in himself, where potential has no limits.

For Phát, there is no single answer to the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Because he understands that he has the courage to nurture many dreams, and each of them deserves the chance to shine.

2. “Be yourself, live a meaningful life”

Bảo Ngọc always shines under the stage lights, yet she carries a deeply empathetic heart, with the aspiration to become a lawyer and stand up for justice.

VASer Bùi Minh Bảo Ngọc’s dream of pursuing Law stems from a simple but strong belief: “I study Law to protect fairness for the vulnerable, and to live a meaningful life.”

With excellent academic results, Ngọc is far from being a bookworm buried in textbooks. She is a true Gen Z girl with everyday interests: Reading, watching movies, and a deep love for music.

Living by the motto “Just be yourself,” Ngọc always chooses to stay true to who she is and live fully with what makes her happy. At VAS, she has never had to sacrifice her personal identity in exchange for achievements.

People often see her as a diligent and hardworking student at her desk. Yet it is just as easy to encounter a radiant Bảo Ngọc under the stage lights - Singing, dancing, or confidently taking on the role of an MC.

That freedom has helped Ngọc realize that nurturing a “cool head” to pursue academic goals does not prevent her from keeping a “warm heart” for music.

She does not need to fit into any single mold to succeed. She knows that when she is confident in being herself, every passion will find its foundation to go further.

3. Not choosing a single destination, but choosing wings to fly anywhere

Full of promise, Swar Mnemosyne has made her mark on international stages and continues to explore and embrace new experiences.

Swar Mnemosyne Ricafort is a vivid example of breaking down all boundaries.

Growing up in a family with foreign parents and English as her first language, after 10 years at VAS, Swar continues to surprise everyone with her fluent Vietnamese, as natural as her mother tongue. This cultural blend has nurtured an open mindset, forming the foundation for her confidence to seize every opportunity without barriers.

If asked, “Who will you be in the future?” Swar does not rush to choose a fixed answer. Because:
Yesterday, she was an innocent six year old girl who captured hearts with her clever moment as a “translator” for a Vietnamese driver.

• Today, she is a young model, an aspiring actress, and a champion at international academic and beauty arenas.
• Tomorrow, her hands may sketch glamorous fashion collections, or her eyes may tell life stories through the lens of a talented director.
• And right now, Swar is simply an eighth grade student with many aspirations. Whether she has already named her dream or is still joyfully searching, she is given the freedom to embrace present experiences and listen to herself grow each day.

At VAS, Swar is given the privilege of “not having to rush into decisions.” She is free to explore every corner of her potential, so that each day at school becomes a new adventure. Because she believes that when her wings are strong and her soul open, she can fly anywhere she wishes.

VAS does not only educate future doctors, lawyers, or artists. We walk alongside students to help them become well rounded individuals. Young people who are confident to live true to their passions, strong enough to nurture multiple dreams, and resilient enough to pursue them.
