3 VAS teachers accredited by Microsoft as Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts (MIEE)

This year, VAS is proud to have 3 teachers honored by Microsoft as Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) including:

1. Nguyen Thi Lieu, Head of MOET Programme, Ba Thang Hai Campus

This is the 7th year in a row that she has been recognized as a Microsoft Innovative Educator. She has spent a lot of time researching and successfully applying Microsoft tools to teaching and management activities. Moreover, with the copyrighted Office 365 offered by VAS that provides accounts for all teachers and students, she and the school administrators and teachers have implemented many active teaching and learning activities, as well as facilitating work management using Microsoft Teams, Sway, Form, OneNote, OneDrive...

Ms. Lieu shared: “When I first approached information technology tools, I didn’t think much about how I would actually apply them. However, later on, I realized that there was many useful software that can support teaching very well. Through what I have learned, I wanted to show the teachers at VAS how to integrate technology into teaching and help students have an exciting class.”

Her wish is that more VAS teachers will accredited by Microsoft as they have been continuously trained and mastering skills in integrating technology into teaching. Especially in recent years, when online teaching is an inevitable trend, applying technology becomes more familiar and requires more creativity than ever for all teachers.

2. Nguyen Ly Thuy, Secondary Math Teacher, Hoang Van Thu Campus

He has 13 year working experiences with 6 years teaching at VAS. With teaching experiences in the VAS environment, Mr. Thuy has successfully organized many learning activities and projects that applied ICT to encourage the active learning and interaction of students in the lecture. Mr. Thuy is also the one who inspires and leads students in community activities. The community project “Enlighten Knowledge”, led by him, has brought the solar lights and hope for a brighter future to thousands of children in remote areas across Vietnam.

Mr. Thuy has been recognized by Microsoft Education as an Innovative Educator Expert for the past three years. He shared: “I would like to thank the students, my colleagues and school management, especially those from Hoang Van Thu campus, for accompanying and supporting me in my teaching and personal development journey. Technology gives us more tools to help our students in their academic and self-improvement. I am very willing to share my experience with my colleagues to help them increase teaching effectiveness.”

3. Lam Thi Thuy Linh, Primary Teacher cum Head of Grade 5, Ba Thang Hai Campus

She has 11 years of teaching experience, including 9 years working at VAS. As a young and dynamic teacher, she often explores and applies information technology to teaching, making her lessons interesting and more accessible. Students are encouraged to be active and creative in discovering new knowledge through the learning activities she organizes. This is the first year she has been recognized by Microsoft as an Innovative Educator.

Ms. Linh shared: “I am very proud to be accredited by Microsoft Education as one of 265 Innovative Educator Expert of Vietnam in the academic year 2021 – 2022. As an MIE Expert, I will never stop learning to further develop myself, and I am willing to share my experiences with colleagues in applying information technology in teaching to achieve the highest efficiency. Wishing all teachers enthusiasm and success in their educational careers.”

Worldwide, there are more than 20,000 teachers who are recognized as MIEE Expert, of which 265 teachers are from Vietnam. Microsoft Teams is also the application selected by VAS for online teaching because of many optimal features and the proficiency of using it of more than 900 teachers at the school.
