Four VAS Students Achieved the National Excellent Student Awards for Cambridge Examinations 2019
According to the results of the Cambridge International Examinations 2019, Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) has four excellent students who won the "Top in country" award in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams, the AS and A Level exams. The award ceremony took place at the Sala Mega campus, in District 2 on the morning of November 2, 2019 with the participation of more than 500 students and parents across all VAS campuses. On this occasion, VAS also presented ... awards for ... students who have won high scores on the Cambridge exams in May and June.
Four excellent students of VAS who won the "Top in country" award are: Huynh Gia Bao, 10th grade, Sunrise campus in English as a Second language (count in Speaking), IGCSE exam; Patrick Colin Dooley, 12th grade, Ba Thang Hai campus in Physics, A Level 2 exam; Nguyen Xuan Nguyen and Tran Bach Duong, 11th grade, Ba Thang Hai campus in Business Studies and Economics, AS Level exam.
In addition, VAS also has three additional students honored by Cambridge for achieving high scores, including Ngo Duc Huy, 11th grade, Ba Thang Hai campus in Computer Science, AS exam and Dinh Nam Anh, 12th grade, Hoang Van Thu campus in Further Maths. Student Patrick Colin Dooley received additional awards for achieving three of the highest scores on the A Level exam.
Especially, in the A Level exam, 100% of VAS 12th graders from Hoang Van Thu campus achieved high scores of A* - B, of which 60% of students achieved Good to Excellent scores (A* - A) in Further Maths. Also, on this exam, 60% students from Ba Thang Hai campus achieved Excellent to Fair scores in Business Studies. 72% of students across all VAS campuses scored an average of A * - C in all subjects.
In the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams for 10th graders, 84% of VAS students achieved average scores from A* - C in all subjects, of which 30% of students achieved Good to Excellent scores of A* - A.
Outstanding achievements and certificates equipped by the Cambridge International Education Programme at VAS help students access many countries with advanced educational system. By May 2019, VAS had 17 students receiving scholarships to study abroad with a total value of more than $ 2 million from universities and secondary schools in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Switzerland and Japan. In which many students have achieved three to five scholarships at different schools. Especially, Dinh Nam Anh, a student from class 12H3A, Hoang Van Thu campus, received a scholarship worth $ 294,000 for 4 years of study at the University of Chicago, Illinois, USA.
