OFFICIAL UPDATE: SUNRISE CAMPUS’S CANTEEN

The VAS Sunrise Campus's canteen satisfied all evaluation standards of the Inspection Team from the Food Safety Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh City on May 13th, 2019.
This morning, the Food Safety Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh City inspected the canteen at the Sunrise Campus of Vietnam Australia International School (VAS). According to the "Minutes of Food Safety Inspection for Food and Beverage Businesses”, the canteen met 4/4 evaluation criteria, including: Hygiene; Facilities; Human conditions; Raw materials, food additives, and water sources.
Minutes of the Conclusion:
- Legal documents: Campus has provided business registration certificates and met the conditions for food safety and documents of material origin.
- Facilities: Kitchen has been solidly built; floors, walls, ceilings are built with bright and easy-to-clean materials. Separate divisions exist for: raw materials, preparation and processing, dividing food and materials. Catering equipment is made of stainless steel.
Details of the Inspection Report:
According to the inspection results to verify the case that occurred at lunch on May 10th, 2019 which was reported by a parent (according to the media), the Minutes of the Inspection Team clearly state: “We suggest that the Vietnam Australia International Education Company associate with School Foods Joint Stock Company (belongs to The Caterers) to closely examine the input materials, the preparation, the processing and the serving stage. Do not let similar cases (maggot appears in sliced tomatoes) occur during food preparation for students.”
