LATEST UPDATE OF VAS’s OFFICIAL STATEMENT
About the lunch at Sala Mega Campus’s canteen on Sep 18th, 2019
Regarding the students’ meals at Sala Mega Campus on September 18th, 2019, the Vietnam Australia International School (VAS), the Board of Management of Sala Mega Campus and the catering supplier - Aden acknowledged that there had been some failures in the management and inspection of meal quantity before serving students during recent times. We would like to express our sincere apologies to the students and parents of Sala Mega Campus and thank you for your cooperation and feedback so we can improve our service quality promptly.
Here are some practical solutions that VAS and Aden have been working together to upgrade the students' meals at Sala Mega campus starting from Monday, September 23rd, 2019:
- Students’ meals will be enhanced, as well as the bread, butter, vegetables at the Salad Bar and fruit juice during lunch.
- Students drink New Zealand brand's Anchor milk, which has been serving every day whenever they need during lunch and snack time.
- Aden will improve the flavor of dishes from the processing stage and ensure the food is hot before serving.
- The school continues to carry out the close inspection and supervision of raw material suppliers, publicizes the list of suppliers; tightens the supervision of food distribution, quantity and quality on each tray of students before being served; takes photos of the food sample trays of the meals at school in 01 day (breakfast, lunch and snack), and shows them on the television at Sala campus’ lobby for parents to see during meal time.
- The VAS staff will collaborate with Aden to continue the periodical audits on food quantity and quality, hygiene and safety, as well as tighten the implementation of 22 procedures of food processing and operation by Aden and procedures of 4-step food monitoring by VAS.
- VAS will also conduct food surveys to take students' opinions on meal quality, and make continuous improvement based on feedback on food survey results.
We hope that the efforts of VAS and Aden in improving and upgrading the quality of meal service will promote practical efficiency and bring satisfaction to students and parents in upcoming time.
As we shared in a letter to parents on September 18th, 2019, in order to strengthen the management and supervision of student care and education services at Sala Mega Campus, the VAS’s Board of Management has appointed Mr. Darin Carney, from the United States, with 30 years experienced managing in the education field, as the Executive School Director of Sala Mega Campus and Ms. Dang Quynh Do Uyen as the new Operation School Manager.
