Children's success comes from the partnership between parents and school

Education is a social commitment that comes from a common goal

"Each person has his or her own purpose and goal, but in general, we all want the school to teach our children to become good people who contribute to the society" - Mr. Can Vu Tuan, parent of student Can Vu Binh Minh, a 12th grader at Sunrise campus. Binh Minh has had 12 years attending VAS since Grade 1. In mid-June 2021 he was approved by 14 of 15 universities in the US which he had applied to and was granted scholarships by 10 of the schools with a total value of 19.6 billion VND for 4 years of study.  Many of those schools are at the top university rankings in the US such as the University of Chicago New York University, Northeastern University and Boston University.  Binh Minh is going to pursue Biomedical Engineering major at the Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, USA in the upcoming years.

Twelve VAS 12th grade students won scholarships worth over 60 billion VND to study abroad

Educating children to become kind and useful people for the society is the common goal that connects and engages more than 2,000 VAS staff-teachers and nearly 20,000 parents across VAS system. The care and education for children requires both parents and the school to always stand side by side in the children’s process of learning and development, especially Preschool and Primary children. In addition to the communication channels of face-to-face meetings, email, phone or VAS Parent Portal application, the school also applies Microsoft Teams and Class Dojo in teaching so that parents and students can actively contact directly with homeroom or subject teachers when the former need support.

When trust is put in the right place

Parents choose a school mostly because of its prestige, educational programs and excellent facilities. Yet the decisive factor for long-term commitment lies in the quality of teachers and education, especially the development of students’ personality, and their knowledge and confidence. VAS has a team of nearly 1,000 talented and highly experienced Vietnamese and foreign teachers who have strong dedication to education, 100% of those own university or college degrees and 15% have master's or higher degrees. In addition to the main responsibility of teaching, teachers also inspire and closely support students in extracurricular activities and competitions.

Students are inspired and supported strongly from the team of 1,000 dedicated and talented teachers

Every year, students can experience and challenge themselves in dozens of academic and talent competitions at school such as the English Speaking Contest, Robocon, VAS's Got Talent, VAS Olympics... This is also the foundation for them to receive nearly 1,000 high prizes at the international math competition SASMO, English Champion, April Olympiad, TOEFL Junior, Scientific Research, Scientific Knowledge and application, World Scholar's Cup… with more than 800 prizes from city level to international level, and 2 "Scientific Research" projects won the first prize at City level in the past year. This solid foundation has helped more than 90% of VAS students to be admitted to and win high-value scholarships from domestic and foreign universities.

Educating children with life lessons

In addition to the lessons in the textbook, the extracurricular activities and social behavior of both the school and families are the best examples for children to follow. In the past school year, with the support of parents, VAS has carried out many community programmes such as donating nearly 2 billion VND to support facilities for students in flood areas in Quang Tri province or the project to plant trees in Can Gio mangrove forest. In early June, the school also urgently spent more than 129 million VND to buy essential items for people in difficult circumstances in Go Vap district during the Covid-19 quarantine period.

At a smaller level, the students themselves have also implemented community-oriented projects and achieved many meaningful results. The student council at Ba Thang Hai campus and the community project team "HP91 - Spreading Dreams" at Sala campus contributed 40 million VND to the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund. The project team "Lighting up the knowledge" at Hoang Van Thu campus contributed hundreds of solar lanterns to poor students from North to South, “brought Christmas” to more than 200 children in the Vietnamese Cambodian village and planted 1,185 trees in An Giang, Son La, Dak Lak for greening the barren hills… The seeds of sharing and loving have sprouted from those activities.

It is the companionship of parents that motivates and helps VAS fulfill its goals of  educating tens of thousands of students who have been studying and working in Vietnam and many countries around the world.

VAS is providing 3 education programmes, including CEP, CAP and CAP International, that are suitable for student's ability, English skills and each family's expectations.
