English: Fun for learning – Learning with fun
Learning in the green of the Zoological and Botanical Garden
In another tour, the students visited the Zoological and Botanical Garden (the Zoo) to expand their vocabulary about animals and plants with their expat teachers. By witnessing a variety of animals by themselves, the students learned more knowledge about biology. Amid the fresh and green ambience, the children seemed to take part in the game and quiz shows more enthusiastically to consolidate their knowledge in the trip. Before ending the trip, VAS teachers and students did not forget to pay homage and burn incenses at the Hung King Temple to learn more about the birth of the country.
Learning more about Saigon’s history
With more than 300 years of establishment and development, lovely Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City possesses a romantic beauty which is a mixture of many cultures. Starting their city tour from the Notre Dame Cathedral (Notre-Dame de Rheims) – a distinguished symbol of the city with ancient Gothic architecture, VAS teachers and students moved on to Dong Khoi Street – a magnificent boulevard in Saigon since the French domination period, Vincom commercial center, Continental Hotel, and the City Hall – the last stop. The confidence of VAS ‘young journalists’ surprised foreign tourists when they were interviewed. The half-day trip gave the children new perspectives about the city thanks to the history lessons and critical thinking skills they learned from their expat teachers.
Impressive playground at Tho Trang Park
VAS little kids had a day of massive fun and physical development activities at the Tho Trang Park. The expat teachers also took part in exciting games like twisted artificial mountain climbing, see-saws, fluffy toy animals, slides, sand games, merry-go-rounds, fairy chariots, bumper cars and so on to train flexibility and agility. The children also learned a lot of vocabulary about safety slogans and games in an exciting atmosphere. The busy and memorable morning was expected to energize the children in their learning back at the school.
