VAS students’ scientific research – From practicality to applicability

In this year’s competition, VAS received 22 projects in multiple fields such as Biochemistry, Natural Science, Social and Behavioural Science, Behavioural Psychology, Organic compounds, Chemistry, Material Science, Embedded system,… At the final round of the contest, held at Ba Thang Hai campus yesterday, each research group presented their ideas and summarised the implementation process as well the results of the project.

Congratulations to 12 outstanding projects that have won the awards in the Science Research Contest at the School level in the school year 2020-2021:

  • First prize: Ba Thang Hai campus, project “VIS – An application to support Vietnamese international students.”
  • Second prize: Ba Thang Hai campus, project “Production of carbonated beverages from red flesh dragon fruit and kombucha.”
  • Third prize

- Ba Thang Hai campus, project “Music and Literature – The initial arousals of the passion.”

- Sala campus, project “Upper secondary students and preservation of traditional festivals in Ho Chi Minh city – Situation and Solutions.”

- Sunrise campus, project “An initially experimental study of production of hair spray from natural herbs.”

  • Consolation prize:

- Riverside campus, project “Create positive experiences for school-age children.”

- Garden Hills campus, project “Survey of students’ habits of wearing masks, grades 6 and 7 at Vietnam Australia International School.”

- Garden Hills campus, project “Improvement of the formulation of production of multi-function detergents from waste oil and additives.”

- Sunrise campus, project “Extract of anthocyanin from red flesh dragon fruit and application for identifying borax in food”

- Sunrise campus, project “An initially experimental study of production of bio-plastic from banana peel.”

- Ba Thang Hai campus, project “Check attendance using NFC technology.”

- Ba Thang Hai campus, project “Radio The Spectrum – Connection of the homosexual community.”

Many thanks to the teachers for accompanying, guiding, and supporting students throughout the implementation of the project. VAS hopes that those projects will not stop here, but will be submitted to other competitions at District and City levels. We hope students will continue being creative, exploring and pursuing their passions.
