VAS student won an RMIT scholarship

Scholarship granted to Nguyen Huu Thao Nguyen

Nguyen Huu Thao Nguyen had been studying at VAS since her grade 8. In spite of being a public school student and facing the complete change of living environment (as her family moved to South from North Vietnam), Thao Nguyen made all of her efforts, together with VAS teachers’ guidance, to cope with the challenge in order to adapt herself into the new school life. During the four years at VAS, not only had she been an excellent student with her outstanding academic performance but also a volunteer to positively take part in all the school extra curriculum activities.

Being selected from hundreds of high school graduates from all cities and provinces in Vietnam, Thao Nguyen was granted a partial scholarship for three years at RMIT to gain a Bachelor degree of Business. Professor Gael McDonald, RMIT Vietnam principal stated that the scholarships were given to outstanding students taking the past school year at all high schools within Vietnam. They were the ones with not only excellent academic performance but also leadership talent and remarkable social activities.

Thao Nguyen remarked, “Current VAS students should notice that your positive participation in the school extra curriculum activities, charitable and social activities is as essential as your excellent academic performance. This gives you not only a good point in your profile to apply for a scholarship but also good chance to accumulate the knowledge about the society and practical skills, which all is necessary for your future life.
