Teachers’ Day at VAS – Meaningful and Joyful

Teachers’ Day is honorably celebrated at VAS

In the formal but warm atmosphere of the celebration, here and there, good memories about teacher-student relationship were reminded. Meanwhile, well-chosen meaningful presents were given to the teachers, which also helped open up the desire for broadening new knowledge. Besides enjoying the students’ beautiful singing and dancing performance, the teachers were also able to watch themselves in the video clips of their teaching periods, which made them touched and emotional. Their emotion even got onto its climax when they received bouquets of flowers form their beloved students.

Students’ Specially-prepared Performances

An Hạ, a student in class 12.1 Ba Thang Hai campus, expressed her feeling at the Celebration, “To everyone of us, studying at VAS has been a favor that not many kids at our age can have. We are thorougly taken care of, loved and taught by both expat and local teachers. Thanks to them, we have been able to show our best. Being twelfth- graders, we now can penetrate the meaning of the saying “Support is from fathers, care is from mothers, and knowledge is from teachers”. We also know that our path to the success in the future is filled with sweat of our beloved parents and teachers. We realize that we have not fully grown up and still need instruction and guidance from our teachers. In order to reward the dedication that all teachers have made, we promise to make our best efforts in the coming exams and enter our lives with more mature and thorough thoughts to build up a better and bright future”.

Good chance for VAS students to show their gratitude to the teachers

Sharing the feelings about student-teacher relationship, Ms. Ho Ngoc Ha, a grade 4 homeroom teacher at Ba Thang Hai campus said, “ In addition to my enthusiastic colleagues, I also have “teachers” who were now and then really demanding to me. But it was these experiences that helped my professional path grow up. The very “teachers” I mentioned are my dearest students. They have trained me how to become more patient day by day, and how to share and understand thoroughly. When they do not understand my lessons, I have to think of how to adjust the lessons or even start from the beginning. When they make mistakes, I learn how to forgive. If they appear naughty, stubborn or eccentric, I learn the lesson of how to conquer. And when they refuse to accept what I am trying to convey for several unnamed reasons, I got myself the most meaningful combined lesson about how to listen, how to be patient, how to accept and how to establish the belief.”

Starting with 400 students, after 10 years of construction and development, VAS has gained almost 5,000 students of all grade level up to 12, studying at 6 modern campuses. It has been a constant effort of the School Management Board, teachers, and staff together with a great contribution of all valued parents and students.
