"Tết Phương Nam " - A journey to build team spirit
A short yet fun-filled journey for the students to gain experience exploring nature, the customs of Tet and the culture of the Southwest, especially when joining with their friends for "team-work" challenges.
January this year, more than 2,500 VAS high school students experienced a special "team-building" program called "Tết Phương Nam" in Can Tho City. After a semester of hard work, it was time for them to make a run for it back to nature, to explore a region with rich history and culture, and to experience the local Southerners’ traditional customs of Tet.
In this program, friendships and team spirit among the students were strengthened through a variety of games and challenges, such as team productions of short films about Can Tho tourism, dancing flashmobs, and competing in folk games, sports games and technology games.
In addition, the students, grades 6-12, were very excited to experience a boat trip, join in the floating market excitement, make Tét cake, and enjoy “don ca tai tu” (a kind of Southern amateur music). Together with these, the fireworks made them feel like they were having an early Tet with all the typical traditional activities of the Southern region.
What a wonderful journey! It sure gives them much relaxation and energy to start the next semester.
