At the workshop, Doctor Nguyen Hien Minh not only answered parents' questions about health during the Covid-19 pandemic, but also offered practical solutions to help parents flexibly improvise in such occasions through a number of profound medical data, photos and videos. Let's take a look at 3 most important topics shared by VAS below:

Taking care of physical and mental health for children and families during the Covid-19 pandemic:

The Covid-19 pandemic has created negative and unpredictable impacts on children's lives such as online learning, reducing time spent outdoors, and lack of social interaction. Therefore, parents need to pay close attention to the abnormal psychological manifestations of their children in order to have timely and necessary support. This is the time when children need the close companionship of their parents to share their worries and help them answer questions about the pandemic, which makes them feel more assured to overcome this difficult period. Following that, Doctor Nguyen Hien Minh offered simple but useful methods for parents and children to implement to strengthen the immune system, reinforce health and be adaptive to the current situation.

Vaccines for children 5-11 years old, should or should not?

Aiming to help parents get rid of concerns surrounding vaccines for children, through Dr. Minh’s sharing, she has provided parents with valuable information on vaccine safety. Doctor Hien Minh shared: “The 4,000 vaccination cases in the study were confirmed to have no cases of anaphylaxis occurring. Compared to common vaccines such as encephalitis, measles, mumps, rubella, and HPV, the post-vaccination symptom of the Covid-19 vaccine is only ranked 5th. This proves that parents can be assured of the safety of their children when receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.

She also shared a lot of useful information about the timing and the level of effectiveness of vaccination with children, which is positively responded to by many parents participating in the workshop.

What do parents need to prepare for their children to have a safe summer?

Summer is coming, family trips are considered as an indispensable part. Although at the present time, Covid-19 is still a dangerous disease. However, Master - Doctor Nguyen Hien Minh emphasized that parents should not ignore summer diseases, which threaten children’s safety such as Japanese encephalitis B, food poisoning, respiratory infections. … Therefore, Doctor Hien Minh suggested timely and effective preventive measures such as eating cooked and drinking boiling water, eating full of nutrients, preventing heat stroke, and being fully vaccinated…

On the school's side, the sharing of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Ha - Executive Director of Ba Thang Hai campus and Hoang Van Thu also showed parents that VAS does not only suggest simple health care methods for parents to practice at home with their children, but the school and teaching staffs also attempt to create a safe study environment for the students to enhance both physically and mentally.
