VAS kicks off the English Speaking Contest 2021

The contest is one of the annual activities that VAS aims to create an opportunity for its students to practice and enhance their English communication skills. This year, in addition to primary and secondary students, the competition is designed for younger grade students - Moon Level. Students at all levels will compete in the following main theme: “Leadership”.

Participating in the competition, students from Moon grade to Primary level will have to prepare a presentation in English about a specific topic. Thereby, they will share their personal opinions and make judgments on a matter or event happened in society based on what they have learned, combined with their observation and other data, facts from their own research.

The contest is an opportunity for young orators to experience, strengthen their confidence and public speaking skills.

For Secondary level, the contestants will compete in groups; two opposing teams debate on the same topic given by the organizer. This is an opportunity for students to confidently express their opinions and debate on social topics like real leaders. At the same time, they will practice and build many important skills for the future such as: teamwork and coordination and persuasion skills, and critical thinking skills.

Direct debating requires secondary students to spend in-depth research on the topic, make logical arguments and practice convincing debate skills

The final round of the competition takes place at the VAS Riverside Mega campus with the below details:
