VAS donates VND107 million to Haiyan victims

Ms. Gigi, a teacher of VAS, who was present at the Consulate shared: “When I got to know VAS was calling for donations to victims of the Haiyan typhoon, my fellow countrymen in the Philippines, I was deeply moved. Through news programs on TV or video clips, my students at VAS were also able to feel the grief of their peers in the Philippines. We are lucky to receive the help we are calling for. To thank VAS, I would like to tell my fellow countrymen that somewhere in HCM City, Vietnam, there is a school called VAS, which understands our needs and has called for donations to share with us.”

Ms. Gigi, VAS teacher, was sharing at the Consulate.

According to Nha Uyen, Class 5.2, Phan Xich Long Campus, her donation came from the pocket money she was given. “I watched TV and saw children in the Philippines lose their house and live in difficulties so I hope our sharing would be able to somehow help them overcome these difficult times. I wish everyone good health and people in the Philippines could quickly resettle themselves.”

Ms. Atty Le Thi Phung, lawyer of the Philippine Consulate, also shared with us the updated statistical figures of the donations by Vietnamese people to the Philippines in the past two months. She will also send the letters of VAS students to the children in the typhoon-stricken area in the Philippines.

Le Huyen Vy, a tenth grader of Hoang Van Thu Campus, had a talk with the Consulate General.
