Writing Contest - Overcoming many challenges and fluctuation in the 2019 - 2020 school year: I did it!
2019 – 2020 is a historical year with a lot of challenges and difficulties due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Facing all these fluctuations, students – especially VAS students – still try their best to stay focused on goals, cultivating knowledge and completing the school year, that is EXCELLENCE!
Overcoming challenges in the 2019-2020 school year required practicing adaptive skills, positive thinking and perseverance to succeed in difficult situations. Let’s look back and share with friends, teachers and parents about the memorable journey!
PURPOSE AND MEANING
- Create opportunities for students to look back and assess their own positive changes during the challenging and volatile school year; also, to help them understand the value of overcoming difficulties, positive thinking and perseverance in the journey to maturity and pursuing their dreams.
- Contribute to developing language skills, writing skills and confidence training, and character.
- Help the parents and the school get a deep understanding about each student, acknowledging and appreciating the students' efforts to cope with the challenges in 2019-2020 school year.
- Create ways for students to share about difficulties and challenges which they are facing. From there, home room teachers will connect with the school and family and can promptly share and support children to overcome challenges to achieving the best results in the next school year.
RULES
1. Participants
All students from grade 1 to grade 12 are currently studying at Vietnam Australia International School are required to join this contest. All the letters will be sent to their parent by their home room teacher in the end of school year meeting.
2. Regulation and language
- The letters should be presented in prose genre (could be in the form of letter or diary…)
- The length of the letters: from 300 to 800 words.
- Language: English, Vietnamese or bilingual are accepted depending on the language ability of each student.
3. Assessment specification and time to submit
- From now on, students enable to submit letter to homeroom teachers. Homeroom teacher of each class will work with IPC to select and submit the best letter that will represent the class before 12:00 PM on July 7th, 2020.
- For each grade, MOET Head and Academic Assistant will select 01 best letter of the grade and send the representative letters to the organizers before 12:00PM on July 10th, 2020.
- The organizers will choose 01 best letter of each campus and announce the result, post the letters of 7 campuses on VAS Facebook on July 15th, 2020.
PRIZES
- At each campus, the best letter of each grade – selected by Moet Head – will receive 2 movie vouchers of CGV cinemas.
- Best letter of each campus – selected by Organizers will receive 1 voucher of Minera Hot Springs Binh Chau for 2 pax (2 days 1 night).
- The best letters will be posted on Vas’s Facebook to inspire the VAS community about challenges overcoming and toward to EXCELLENT values in all circumstances of VAS student
