Applying “backward planning” to design your children’s learning journey

If Grade 12 is seen as the “finish line”, the key question parents should ask is: What do my children need by that point, not only to gain admission to their desired universities, but also to be fully prepared for the future? At a recent online seminar hosted by the Vietnam Australia International School (VAS), education experts highlighted the importance of a “backward planning” mindset. This approach starts with the end goal and works backwards to design a suitable learning pathway from the very beginning.

GRAND FINAL VAS ROBOTICS COMPETITION 2025 – 2026: VASERS SHINE THROUGH TECHNOLOGY AND KINDNESS

On April 3 at VAS Sala Campus, the final round of the VAS Robotics Competition 2025–2026 took place in an energetic atmosphere, featuring thrilling and competitive performances. This year, the competition stood out with its expanded scale and more diverse content. At the Primary level, nearly 50 VAS students and 4 guest teams formed 16 vibrant competing teams. Meanwhile, the Secondary level gathered 200 VAS students, with 70 teams competing across 9 categories, creating a dynamic and highly competitive technology arena.
